Katie Purvis MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, CPN is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner providing integrative mental health services to children, teens and young adults (6yr - 26yrs). She began her career as a Registered Nurse after completing her undergraduate nursing degrees at Tarrant County College and The University of Texas in Arlington, later completing a Master of Science in Nursing, at Frontier Nursing University, specializing as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

Katie has maintained an additional board certification in pediatric nursing during her many years' experience working with children and young adults. She has extensive experience working with pediatric and young adult patients experiencing homelessness, human trafficking, intellectual and developmental delays, complex trauma, depression, and other mood disorders, ADHD, autism and substance use disorders.

Katie’s professional knowledge and experience in treating pediatric mental health disorders is enhanced by her personal experience as a parent. She has been using Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) principles with her own children for the last 25 years, and TBRI is an integral part of how she approaches every patient and parent encounter.

Katie has a keen understanding of the physical and emotional challenges parents face when their child is experiencing a mental health crisis, experiencing this first hand within her own family. These experiences have empowered the empathy and insight she works with to create safe emotional spaces for children, teens and young adults to discover their own strength and resilience.
